As many of you are (hopefully) anticipating the finale to the Alex Jones Series, I wanted to announce that I've put it on hold for now to focus the remainder of the year on a new standalone novel, No Place is Safe.
Without further ado, here is the gist of the novel.
"DS Christian Anderson assumed when he walked out the door of his childhood home in Cedar Lake, Saskatchewan ten years earlier, he had left his old life behind. However, a desperate call from his childhood friend, Gemma, catapults him to return to the dismal town he did not ever want to see again.
Her older sister, Cassidy, fresh out of her third stint in rehab has vanished, and the local police chalk it up to just another junkie off on a binge. However, Gemma can’t shake the gnawing sense there is more going on. With no one else to confide in, Gemma appeals for his help.
At first, he is hesitant, but at last, DS Anderson agrees, packs his bags, and journeys north from Regina. As the investigation ramps up, several locals are questioned, and DS Anderson digs up more information than he came for about his own mother’s disappearance twenty-four years ago.
The tension around town builds, and then on the second night, Gemma disappears. Now alone in a town plagued with phantoms from his past, will DS Anderson rescue his friend, or will he too fade away the same as all those he ever loved?"
